About

My name: Catherine (Cathy) Richardson Kineweskwêw
Throughout my life I have been drawn to the things unseen; the mystic, magical and mysterious, knowing that there is more to life than just the physical realm. I am inspired by my Metis culture with Cree teachings and have been a student of other cultures as well, including the West Coast Hulquemalum teachings of the Quw’utsun and those of the Kaska through my work with the Liard Aboriginal Women’s Society. I have Indigenous ancestral lines to Turtle Island as well as Orcadian (Celtic and Norse) and Swedish ancestry. My healing work holds aspects of various traditions from talk therapy to my shamanic practice. I have a commitment to language that is socially just, accurate and descriptive as well as poetic and metaphorical that embraces ways to hold and account for human suffering beyond notions of damage. I am inspired by the medicine wheel and the quest to integrate and balance the physical body with the emotional, mental and spiritual aspects of our self-as-connected to others and all-that-is.
